Which wine glass should you buy?

If you love wine, then you should know that having the right glass is also very important. Which makes many people ask, does the wine glass matter that much? And which wine glass? Let me tell you, the glass matters. You don’t have to take my word for it, simply try drinking wine from a coffee cup, rocks glass and then a nice stemmed wine glass. Getting the full range of tastes from the different shapes, you should notice the difference in how the wine tastes. Wine glasses are made to enhance the aroma and taste of wine with it’s bowl shaped bodies. You’ll miss out on all that goodness if you drink wine straight from a red solo cup.

If you’re a wine enthusiast, then you know of the well known brands like Riedel and Schott Zwiesel. However, because these brands are so popular, they can be a tad expensive. Lucaris, the Crystal of Modern Asia, is a fairly unknown brand, especially in the Western Hemisphere, but I really don’t know why. The Lucaris Crystal glasses are beautiful and extremely durable as well making them perfect for any restaurant/venue that go through a lot of glass.

Let’s compare some glasses. All these brands have great glasses, but which one would be best for you? I picked a red wine glass with a capacity of about 20-22 ounces from multiple brands and we’ll see what gives the biggest bang for your bucks.

Starting with the,

Lucaris Tokyo Temptation 20.5 oz. Bordeaux Glass (Set of 12)

Going by what we see here, only the Anchor Hocking Stolzle is cheaper than the Lucaris crystal and just by two cents. Lucaris overall looks like the better choice. Even when I compare a Lucaris glass to Riedel or Schott Zwiesel stemware, I can’t help but lean towards Lucaris. Add price to the equation and the obvious choice is a no brainer. Lucaris is not just for show either, it’s luminous clarity is backed up by its strong durability. Wine glasses are normally very sensitive and fragile, but Lucaris Crystals are extremely durable.

Check out this video of Lucaris being dropped/tipped onto concrete multiple times without breaking!

Beautiful stemware, competitive/inexpensive pricing and strong durability. What more do you need from a Wine Glass?
